I'm a fairly happy iChat user, but currently work for a firm that has been using Yahoo (yo ho...) IM, so have been using Fire for YahooIM people.

A friend just pointed me to Adium for OS X. At first view, a great piece of software. Brings everything together for me w/ a nice UI. It's under the GPL, but we'll overlook that :)

Seems to be faster than running under JDK 1.5
