EU tangling up the JAVA-ORCA deal

I'll admit I don't understand this. Except for some auxiliary enterprise features, MySQL is OSS, under the GPL. Why is this a bigger problem that Sun's stranglehold over Java technology?

I suppose the EU (and others) have an easier time understanding/fearing a combined Oracle/Sun database market dominance than they do the licensing issues around Java, and Sun's interpretation of their own license. The EU seems to be mostly concerned that MySQL doesn't level the playing field enough to offset 'anti-competitive effects'. I'm hopeful that Java will be considered as well during their analyses.
